The definition of stained glass is colored glass used
to make decorative windows and other objects through which light passes. The stained
glass with which we are most familiar is often made in large, richly detailed
panels that are set together in a framework of lead. I am currently working with colored glass in
three dimensional hangings called whirls.
They have a brass pivot that allows the piece to rotate in the
breeze. The glass is cut, wrapped with copper foil and
the soldered to form free flowing designs.
